Dental Sedation, Mississauga endodontist

What is Dental Sedation?

If you feel anxious during dental procedures you're not alone. Dental sedation may help alleviate your fears so you can get the treatments you need to restore your oral health.

Our endodontists offer dental sedation to help patients feel more comfortable during dental procedures. Your endodontist can help you determine if a dental sedation option is right for you if you're feeling significantly nervous about treatment, have a strong gag reflex or very sensitive teeth.

We strive to do everything we can to help patients with high anxiety about dental treatments feel comfortable and relaxed during their endodontic appointments.

As well as with offering dental sedation options, our team will work at your pace, take breaks as you need them, and provide calm reassurance as required.

Sedation options at our Mississauga endodontic clinic include nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation. Each of our endodontists take part in training from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario for Moderate Sedation services.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

This medication calms patients when inhaled through the nose and mouth and allows them to stay awake and communicate while helping to lessen anxiety, increase pain threshold, make time pass more quickly and reduce gag reflex.

Oral Sedation

If oral sedation is right for you, your endodontist can prescribe this medication in either liquid or pill form to be taken orally before your endodontic appointment. While it leaves you awake for the procedure, it produces a calming effect to leave you feeling significantly relaxed.
